Daily Itinerary
Pickup from Guwahati and transit across Bhalukpong entry gate. Enter Arunachal and stay overnight beside the Jia Bhoroli river.
Drive to Dirang. Visit local kiwi gardens, Dirang Dzong heritage village, and natural hot water springs. Stay in Dirang.
Cross the frozen Sela Pass at 13,700 ft. See Sela Lake, pay respects at Jaswant Garh War Memorial, then enter Tawang.
Visit the massive Tawang Monastery (second largest in the world) and Urgelling Monastery. Spend afternoon at local viewpoints.
Begin the return leg of the journey, driving back down the mountains to Bomdila. Stay overnight in Bomdila.
Return drive from Bomdila down to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your flight home.

Jul 09, 2026Tawang was cold but extremely beautiful. Monasteries are very peaceful. The long drives are a bit tiring but totally worth it.
